Molded Plastic Optics, LLC of Manchester, New Hampshire is pleased to announce that as of March 23, 2009; Sean P. Meehan has joined their team as the National Sales Manager.

Sean has over 15 years of successful Sales/Sales Management Experience. The past five (5) years Sean was the Eastern Area Sales Director for Lightpath Technology, an optical component manufacturer in Orlando, Florida. During his time at Lightpath, Sean was very influential in growing the company sales from six (6) million to over twelve (12) million and was awarded “Sales Director of the Year”.

Prior to joining LIghtpath, Sean spent 12 years in the Semi-conductor/ Electronics industry of which six years were spent as a Manufacturer’s Sales Representative with Grouptec in New Jersey and six years with Arrow Electronics, NJ.

MPO is pleased to announce it has put online a new state of the art Diamond Turning machine to further expand it's plastic optics manufacturing capabilities. This new 4 axis Diamond Turning machine is used to provide rapid turnaround of prototype quantity precision plastic optics, as well as to allow in-house optimization of the optical pins used in it's manufacturing molds.

Dave Schmidt, MPO’s director of advanced technology attended the APOMA Fall 2008 Optical Manufacturing Workshop, in Tucson, Arizona, at the University of Arizona. The workshop covered a wide variety of topics on optical fabrication such as materials, bound and loose abrasive grinding, optical pitch and polishing pads, optical tolerances & metrology and presentations by optical machine builders on the latest equipment, and much more.   Dr. Schmidt gained valuable insights into further optimizing optical designs and optical fabrication techniques of precision plastic optics.

MPO opens it’s doors in new specific built 10,000 sq. ft facility in Manchester NH. The company was set up specifically to design, produce and verify the highest precision molded plastic optical components for the most demanding applications including sensing, imaging, scanning, detecting and more.
Molded Plastic Optics (MPO) was formed by a group of experienced optical engineers and optics industry professionals to address the needs of companies looking for reliable suppliers of precision plastic optics. Our founders realized there is a lack of plastic optical molding suppliers who can truly design and provide the highest quality precision plastic optics made to each customer’s specifications, and not simply what the supplier can make.
